Dear CLWA Members and Chebacco Lake Supporters.
This is the one to come to.
After four seasons of research and water sampling, we finally have the most complete picture of our lake in decades. Now comes the part that matters: turning all of that into a plan we actually act on. Join us on Saturday October 17th for a discussion of Chebacco lake health, an update on our watershed based plan, and critical CLWA meeting items.
And we will have bagels, pastries, coffee and cider.

FORMAL NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING AND SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP
Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Chebacco Lake & Watershed Association, which shall also be deemed a "Special Meeting" for the purpose of amending the Bylaws, will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Cottage (Lake House), Centennial Grove, Essex, Massachusetts. This Annual Meeting and Special Meeting shall include the election of the CLWA's Officers and Directors, consideration and voting on the adoption of Amended and Restated Bylaws, which if approved would replace the Association's existing Bylaws in their entirety and such other business as may properly come before the meeting.
Summary of proposed amendments. The Amended and Restated Bylaws would, among other things: open membership to any household with an interest in the lake and watershed, and authorize the Board to set and waive dues (rather than fixing them to predetermined amounts); permit members to participate and vote remotely or by proxy, and reduce the quorum for Association meetings from 20% to 15%; replace the fixed thirteen-member board with a range of five to fifteen Directors serving staggered two-year terms; provide that the Board can fill director vacancies until the next Annual Meeting; establish a more open and transparent board nomination process ; give members the right to inspect Association records and to receive a written annual financial report; replace the existing expenditure thresholds with an annual budget process; adopt a conflict of interest policy and indemnification for Directors, Officers and volunteers; and conform the Association's purposes, dissolution and related provisions to the requirements of Section 501(c)(3).
Current Members are entitled to notice of and to vote at these meetings.
