To respond to the annual threat of harmful algae blooms and lake closures, and other disturbing challenges identified in last year’s lake sampling, we are launching a special GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $10,500 by August 25th. 1. Digital Communications Expansion (40%): We strive to expand communication and community building. This year, we launched a new content-rich website, set up digital payment, and built a badly-needed database tool. Additional Investment in digital tools will allow us to reach and engage a broader audience about lake health and solutions.

2. Lake Research (60%): Your donations will fund the completion of 2024’s lake research project, another crucial step towards a lake management and remediation plan. This multi-year effort is being conducted by Applied Watershed Sciences. Importantly, the data we collect now builds the case for securing public funding.

How does this fit into the Big Picture?

In considering the broader scope, it's essential to recognize that this fundraiser marks just one of many initiatives planned for the upcoming year. The restoration of our lake is a substantial endeavor, necessitating a strategic and well-supported approach. Recent successes among other New England lakes highlight a clear and proven path to achieving our objectives.

The landscape has evolved significantly since 1995 (previous initiative), with advancements in both scientific understanding and practical tools yielding tangible results over the past three decades. Our ultimate aim is a visibly improved and ecologically stable lake, where algae and plant growth are effectively managed through established methodologies. Our timeline for achieving these goals spans the next two and a half years. The big one is " Godzilla Algae 2025 "

Our immediate priority lies in completing the phase 1 scientific study by the end of this year and continuing through 2026. Concurrently, we will focus on galvanizing community support and fostering a unified front capable of overcoming any obstacles hindering our progress.

Together, we aim to become an unstoppable force in ensuring the sustained health and vitality of our lake.
