In April 2023, CLWA hired lake consultant Hillary Kenyon of Applied Watershed Sciences LLC to begin the investigation. She reviewed historical data and sampled the lake in May and August. Early observations included warning signs and preliminary evidence of significant oxygen depletion in deeper portions of the lake.
CLWA thanked seven households that contributed nearly $6,000 to launch the initiative, alongside $2,500 in Association funding.
